Alex Shipman is a filmmaker, BFI Film Academy and NFTS Craft Skills Residential Alumni. Her first experience of filmmaking was with the BFI Film Academy at the age of 17 where she directed a short Sci-Fi Film. After her course she went on to work for companies such as BBC, Sky Arts, ITV and Dave.

As well as developing herself within the film and television industry, Alex directs documentaries. Her first short got in to festivals in London, LA, Seattle, Norway, Croatia and on the British television channel London Live. Her passion is film-making and she regularly directs music video's, branded content and documentaries. Alex is currently directing a feature boxing documentary about her mother, a 50 year old boxer.

Bam Bam' follows the story of a 50 year old female boxer, trying to obtain a license so she can finally stop fighting unlicensed. Sandra has been fighting since the age of 32, remains undefeated and recently won an International title. Despite her achievements it is still extremely difficult for her to compete in the sport she loves. This documentary follows the determination it takes to get somewhere in the boxing world, how brutally beautiful the sport can be and how you can do whatever you want, no matter what age you are.
