His love affair with things visual began with hubcaps. As a toddler Ben had a healthy obsession with car hubcaps, which at that time were uniformly chrome plated and shiny. Later on, with the acquisition of a beat up Super 8 camera, and after reading a book on the subject, he moved his aesthetic boundaries into the world of the moving image and decided to become a cartoon animator for Disney.
Over the following years, Ben made plenty of little films, including the utterly dreadful ‘Psychic Investigators Meet the High Priestess of Doom’, a veritable affront to the art of film-making.
Ben likes to bring together the fine art and conceptual side with the animation and CGI. In whichever combination they work though, Ben wants to make films that are meaningful, thoughtful and unusual. Above all, he loves ideas and the process of transforming those ideas into reality.
